I need to convert a .DXF from AutoCAD of a single copper layer PCB to Gerber. The main issue is to fill each copper area in the Gerber file. I am looking for a fast way to accomplish this in FAB3000. (The slow way contemplated so far is to cover the areas again manually with polygons and then fill each of these polygons. This appears too cumbersome and unnecessary.) Can you please help?

Thanks for sending me a gerber file, unfortunately it's not much help as it's better for me to see your DXF file (since that's what you're starting with). My guess is that during DXF Import, you will want to check the options: "Fill", "Join" and "De-Embed" for those metal layers that you want the polygons files.
Here's a YouTube video which may be a little helpful
