I would like to be able to click on a net (in the graphical main window) and get it highlighted.

After running netlist extraction (see previous post for example), you can highlight any single net by using the Nets Table (located in the command window - click tab "Nets").
For an alternative: Go to menu: Info | Query | Query Net..., and then select whatever object you want and the entire net will be highlighted. You can also turn-off all other objects and just display the net objects by selecting "Isolate" from the highlight combo (located in the top-right toolbar).
