Perhaps you have installed ACE into a folder that does not allow "write permission", such as the folder "C:\Program Files\..."   Please view the following support link for more information:

Lastly, if there are still problems you may request a FLEXnet license key (instead of Activation Code).  FLEXnet license key is locked to one computer only (no transfer), and you may obtain a FLEXnet key be performing the following:

1.  Start ACE 3000.
2.  Go to menu:  Help | Enter License Key | FLEXnet...
3.  Click button "Get PERMANENT Key...", and fill out the form.
