I want to move my ACE 3000 (Version 6) to another computer. How do I do this? Please review the user forum, and follow the steps. For your convenience, I have included the direct link:
Tried to activate the license on my computer and I get a message of an invalid password. I changed it to a new password and tried a couple of different ones and still no-go.
Please answer the following questions so I may better assist you:
1. Did you de-activate ACE 3000 from the old computer, before attempting to install on your new computer? Here's the link from the user forum describing this process: http://forums.numericalinnovations.com/post?id=4903592
2. The password is created once (by the customer) the first time they activate ACE 3000. Then whenever you need to de-activate ACE 3000 and move to another computer, you will be prompted to enter that password. If the wrong password is entered (several times), then ACE 3000 may think someone is illegally attempting to distribute or move the software and enter lockout mode.
3. What is your Activation Code and the password used? I'll take a look on the license server to see what's going on.
It was de-activated from the old computer. When activating on mine it made it through using the old password but did not recognized the new one that I had to make.
So now I got pass the password change. Actually it did not ask for the change but accepted what you gave me. But I got another screen, see attached. When running the license activation it told me that there is a lockout until tomorrow. Why is this? Thanks.
Typically when transferring a Single User License to another computer it should only take 1-2 hours for the license server to update (but it can take up to a 24 hours). It appears the license server is going to take the full 24 hours, because ACE may not have been properly de-activated from the old computer, and then there were several attempts to activate on a different computer using the wrong password; and that's why it gave you tomorrow's date for re-activation.
Note: Please understand that this "wait time" is simply a precaution to prevent illegal sharing of the activation code (over the internet). Usually it should only take a few hours to transfer the license to another computer, but since there were problems, it's going to take the full 24.
