Why do some ODB++ files with complex polygons read slower in your tool than VUV? What our products do when importing ODB++ is simplify the complex polygons with holes/islands. ODB++ has a very unconventional way of determining holes/islands in polygons by using the clockwise/c-clockwise direction of the internal polygon to determine whether it is clear or dark. This works well for Valor's software requirements, but Gerber files (and other formats) do not recognize holes/islands by direction; so our products flatten these by linking the holes/islands to the outer polygon. Once an ODB++ file has been imported into our products, it can now be easily exported to any other format like gerber, dxf, etc.
