My colleague suggested printing it as a PDF (vector) instead of changing the color setting, however I don't have that option.

To export Vector PDF files, please perform the following:

1. Go to menu:  File > Export > Documentation |> PDF...   (this will export a vector PDF file)

2. Review the PDF Options and press Next...

3. Review the Layer Options and press Next... and select the file or folder location to output the files.
