difficult to measure between traces using object-to-object if a trace is sub-divided into several adjacent objects instead of one single object

FAB 3000 uses an "edge-based" technology for object selection. When you're selecting objects (in a crowded region) move the mouse over the edge of the trace and then click. By picking near the edge, it's easier for FAB 3000 to determine which trace you need to be selected.
