The software started up in unregistered mode today. It was working just fine up to a few weeks ago. but now it wants a registration code again. When I give it my code I get a message about being unable to write to the directory where the file will be stored.

error text:  "The directory or file for storing the license file (CDM) is write-protected."

Thanks for your question.  Most likely you may have installed FAB 3000 into the folder - "C:\Program Files" which does not permit write access (so FAB 3000 may store its license key).  Here's a link from the support forum:

I would recommend installing the latest version of FAB 3000 and choose the default folder location "C:\Numerical Innovations\..." or another folder that has write permission.
