            Using ACE 3D, can vias be simplified to hexa or octagonal shape to emphasize the meshing process.

            Yes, you can assign the resolution to use for Circles, Arcs, and Vias.  By assigning a value of 8 (during STEP export) you can output vias as an octagon.
