How do you set the display area for DFM Checks? – If I zoom in on an area it still checks everything –it errors items like text in our title block.

By default FAB 3000 will check the entire Gerber file.  If you wish to have it just check the Displayed Area, zoom into the position you want, and then make sure to check the option:
