I am upgrading my system and will be installing a new OS, so how do I make sure my key for ACE 3000 V6 stays valid?

I am upgrading my system and will be installing a new OS, so how do I make sure my key for ACE 3000 V6 stays valid?  Do I just request another key after the reinstall?
