The IPC356 file seems a little offset with the extracted netlist and therefore it shows many error which is not expected.

Basically, we need a software to do gerber against layout checking. I have tried the IPC356 against extracted netlist. Again, there is some problem with it. The IPC356 file seems a little offset with the extracted netlist and therefore it shows many error which is not expected.

For some reason, many PCB CAD software output their IPC netlist with a different coordinate system then the gerbers.  Fortunately FAB 3000 treats nets a objects and makes it real easy to modify and accurately align the Netlist against your design.

Once you have imported your Design and IPC Netlist, please perform the following to align any netlist:
  1. Go to menu:  Edit / Align Layers
  2. Select a reference object on the "Base Layer" (i.e Good Layer).
  3. Now Select the similar reference object on the Layer to be Aligned. The layer is instantly Aligned.
Note: You may optionally repeat for other Layers that need alignment.

Here's a tutorial movie showing the steps:

Note: Now you're ready to run FAB 3000 Compare Nets - menu: Tools | Nets | Netlist Comparison..., or any other features.
